one occupational injury, is enough to change the whole life of the injured worker and
her/his family. however, such real and important impact of their lives thereafter are always forgotten by the mainstream media, for them being developed in an extended timespan and seems ordinary and trivial. how is it like to struggle to live with an injured body? how is it like to live a life while struggling for a long time to demand for justice for the deceased? all these stories, could they be told without interpretation by the others?
taiwan association for victims of occupational injuries (tavoi) collaborated with chen su-xiang (a workers’ movement activist who is well experienced in participating workers’ creative works) and team, to hold an experimental workshop for workers and their families who suffered from occupational injuries. the participants filmed five short documentary videos to form a series of “occupational injuries home videos". tavoi continuously using photography, video making, painting, drama, ect. as the method of creative work collaboration to express collective experiences. this echo what chen su-xiang and taiwan international workers association (tiwa) have emphasized, home videos of workers bears the “aesthetics of fighting as a team" . if you want to know what is the “aesthetics of fighting as a team". you cannot miss this!
[besides the screening, there would be a mini-exhibition of the collaborative art works from the workers’ creativities workshop co-organised by the association for the rights of industrial accidental victims (ariav) and v-artivis]
